School Newsletter and the Noticeboard
Our School is committed to helping every child achieve their full potential. If they are to do this, it is important that they are in school as much as possible. We therefore do not encourage parents to request leave for holiday or absence in term time.
If you still wish to request leave for this reason, your request will be considered carefully, with particular attention given to:
Whether your child will miss any preparation for tests or exams
Whether your child will miss tests or exams
Whether your child has had many absences from school
Any exceptional circumstances
The school has a legal duty to publish its absence figures to parents and to promote attendance. Equally, parents have a duty to make sure that their children attend.
Please note: Parents who have decided to take their children out of school for a holiday in term-time will need to meet with the headteacher and complete the Holiday in Term-Time Request Form at least 14 days before the holiday is taken.
In the case of an unauthorised holiday (10 sessions/5 school days or more) the Behaviour & Attendance Service will be notified of the holiday taken and a Penalty Notice will be issued. Please note that such a Penalty is issued to each parent for each child taken out of school. A Penalty Notice is a fine of £50 which increases to £100 if not paid within the first 28 days. Thereafter, the Penalty remains unpaid this may result in legal action.
