Clem Jackson

Foundation Governor

As a new Foundation Governor I’m looking forward to bringing my skills, knowledge and experience to the Governing Board and to making a contribution to the life of St. John’s Meads School. I’m a member of the Ethos, Pay and Admissions committees and the Curriculum and Data Monitoring Group.

I moved to Eastbourne in 2005 due to a career change. I live in Old Town with my wife Janet and we are fortunate to have both our daughters and their families living close by. I enjoy spending time with our four grandchildren who help to keep me young at heart!

My professional career for 30+ years was spent in the field of Human Resource development, specialising in management training, personal and organisational development. As a HR Director for a manufacturing company my role also encompassed strategic planning, organisational change and management, people development etc. – skills which I have applied as a board member of two local charities.

Until I retired earlier this year, I spent 12 years as the editor of a national trade magazine for Christian retailers and I am passionate about encouraging people of all ages to engage with books. I am also an active member of two local theatre companies and have appeared on all four of Eastbourne’s theatre stages in recent years.
