For all of my career I have been involved in education as a teacher and for many years as a deputy head. I was ordained in 2012 and after serving a curacy in parish returned to education as a school chaplain here in Eastbourne. I also teach chemistry. I have had experience of serving on Governing Boards in two primary schools (one a church school) and a pupil referral unit which served three large comprehensive schools. I have been a schools inspector (for ISI) since 1999 and continue to inspect independent schools. My particular interests in education are focussed on academic standards and ethos within church schools.
I am delighted to be part of the governing board of such a vibrant community as St John’s Meads CofE School. I am Vice Chair of the Governing Board and serve on the Ethos committee and the Curriculum and Data Monitoring group as well as supporting the Chair of Governors in her role.
