Recorder Club

Recorder Club rehearses every Friday lunchtime with Mrs Wintle.  We have played in assembly, the Christmas Fair and at the St John’s Meads Summer concert.  This year we won a shield at the Eastbourne Music Festival for our performance of Hoe Down and Here Comes Treble.  We play Descant, Treble and Tenor recorders.

St John's Meads has achieved the Sing Up Gold Award and Deborah Tyndall, musical representative of the Sing Up Awards gave the following feedback:

Congratulations St Johns Meads CE Primary school, you have demonstrated that your school is a Gold Award singing school. Singing takes place throughout the school day and in all areas of the curriculum and in the playground. The children obviously benefit from the great enthusiasm and encouragement from all members of staff, the school governors and the support and involvement of parents and carers. The whole school is involved with performances and events in school and with the local and wider community, helping to strengthen and broaden those links and give the children a sense of the wider world. Well done.
