I am super excited to join the St John’s Meads School community after working in a primary school in St Leonard’s for the past two years, where I taught in Key Stage 1. I am thrilled to be teaching Year 3 and am looking forward to being a part of the children’s journey through their school years and helping them to flourish and grow. I have received such a wonderful warm welcome from the children, parents and staff at St John’s Meads and I already feel so much a part of this very special community and team.

I enjoy all the subjects that I teach but I especially enjoy English, Mathematics, PE and Art. In my spare time I enjoy the gym and fitness classes and challenging myself with charity runs. I love spending time with my family and taking our two very cute dogs for walks across the beautiful South Downs. I love baking sweet treats from cupcakes and cookies to giant celebration cakes, I also love my arts and crafts and always have a knitting or cross stitch project on the go. I very much look forward to sharing my hobbies with the lovely St John’s Meads community and team!

I am very excited to be Year Two teacher at St John’s Meads, a year group which is new to me this year! I have enjoyed five years teaching at St John’s, with experience across Key Stage One and Two, giving me a great range of knowledge and understanding of teaching and learning through the primary school.

St John’s Meads is a fantastic place to work, with a dedicated and creative staff team who inspire and encourage every child and foster a love of learning. I particularly enjoy teaching Maths and Art. The schools location is perfect for outdoor learning too, with the wonderful beach and South Downs just around the corner.

In my spare time, I enjoy running, walking in the countryside and watching football matches!

I am currently in my sixth year of teaching at St. Johns, having had the privilege of being a previous pupil, a student teacher and an NQT. I am very fortunate to work in such a wonderful school, where the children are encouraged and inspired to be the best they can be. I have very fond special memories of my time as a pupil and would love for the children I teach to look back and have the same. St. Johns offers exciting and creative learning opportunities inside and outside the classroom. In Reception we love to use our outdoor area when learning and exploring and we are very lucky to be able to use the surrounding areas of the beach and downs too! I look forward to another fantastic year at St Johns.

This will be my second year teaching at the lovely St John’s Meads. Having had a wonderful year teaching year 1, I am looking forward to continue teaching this year group. It is a privilege to support the children as they flourish in their learning and as people.

My favourite subjects are Science and Drama, and I enjoy incorporating the active aspect of these subjects into my teaching. I have also performed in a number of pantomimes throughout the years, I feel this has influenced my style of teaching as I like to make learning fun and exciting.

In my free time I enjoy going to concerts and the cinema. My favourite animal is a sloth, hence why our class mascot is Sid the sloth!

This is my second year at St John’s Meads School, I teach Year 5, lead RE and PSHE and am completing my Level 5 Forest School Leader qualification. Previously, I worked in a primary school in St-Leonard’s for 5 years, where I taught in Key Stage 1 and 2, led Key Stage 1 and Phonics and volunteered as a Staff Governor.

As a Christian, it is such a joy to belong to the warm and loving community of pupils, parents, staff and volunteers who worship and work together every day. My favourite Bible passage is Galatians 5:22-23 “the fruit of the Spirit is love, joy, peace, patience, kindness, goodness, faithfulness, gentleness, and self-control.” These are attributes that I actively seek to model and encourage in the children that I work with.

In my spare time, I am usually either working on my allotment, knitting up something cosy or sewing something special to wear. I also enjoy supporting our local rugby team too!
