I have lived in Eastbourne for 50 years and I have been a teacher for over 40 years. I was trained at Loughborough and I hold a Certificate of Education, a Batchelor of Arts Degree, a Master’s Degree and a Diploma in Sports Psychology.

I have been a teacher at both comprehensive and private schools, in my role as Head of Physical Education and Director of Sport. In addition, I have taught at Primary level. I have been fortunate to have mentored over 50 students on their pathway to becoming teachers and I have tutored a number of NQT students in their initial year in the profession. I hope that with my experience in teaching and mentoring I will be able to support and encourage staff further in their efforts to continue to maintain high standards and to also a keep a healthy work-life balance.

I have been involved in several of school inspections at Primary and Secondary level and I am aware of the pressure that it can put on staff and I hope that my experience will allow me to assist the school in any preparation and application.

Obviously, sport is the area I am most familiar with and it is an area I would be willing to assist with developing should the school require additional advice or look to develop further in physical education.
