I have had a long and varied career in education and learning but also have a strong commitment to building caring communities and supporting families. My Christian faith is important to me and it is the knowledge that God is gracious to us that inspires me to offer my gifts and talents to others. I am a member of St Elisabeth’s church in Old Town.
I am married to Christian who is half Finnish, half Swedish, and have three sons, all in their twenties now. Although I have spent a lot of my adult life overseas, I have had a home in Eastbourne since 1997 and the boys all attended school here. I think we are so fortunate to live in such a beautiful part of the world.
Now that I am semi-retired I have more time for voluntary work and being a foundation governor at St John’s would seem to be where God has planned a role for me. I hope that my skills and experience in working with different cultural groups, in mentoring and coaching school leaders, in planning for and supporting change and in compiling and interrogating data will be of benefit to the school as it continues to provide a nurturing environment for the children.
