I have previous experience of school governance having served as both parent governor and Chair of Governors at a school in Bexhill. As a new Foundation governor, I intend to develop my knowledge and skills through further training.
I live in Eastbourne with my wife and daughter and we attend St John’s Church. I now have the time and energy to devote to my new role as Foundation Governor at St John’s Meads.
I was born and spent my childhood in Tunbridge Wells and co-incidentally attended St John’s Church of England Primary School in that town!
I qualified as a Chartered Surveyor and spent most of my working career in Government Service, latterly being appointed Deputy District Valuer here in Eastbourne. I now work as the Director of a small property investment company. I have a particular love of the countryside and the wonder and the beauty of nature which has led to my involvement with a community farm project in Wiltshire. Until recently I even had my own classic tractor!
I have a very positive attitude towards the existence of Church of England schools and the role they play, especially in the Primary years; setting high standards within an inclusive ethos and introducing children to Christian values.
